Originally from Uruguay, Drexler found fame in 2005 for his Oscard award winning song, “The Other Side of the River,” in the movie, Motorcycle Diaries. It was the first Spanish language song to receive the award.

In recent years Drexler has received three consecutive nominations for the Grammy Awards, four Latin Grammy Award nominatinos, and is a two-time winner of the Spanish Music Award and the Goya Award for “Best Original Song.”

Drexler has partnered with other great artists including Mercedes Sosa, Shakira, Omara Portuondo, Ana Belén, Víctor Manuel, Neneh Cherry, Pablo Milanés, Ketama, Miguel Ríos, Ana Torroja, Sole Giménez, David Broza, Rosario, Jovanotti, María Rita, Simone, Zelia Duncan, Paulinho Moska, Jaime Roos, Adriana Varela, entre otros.
